My past is crammed with car racing, running my family’s business, studying ceramics, back-packing round the world, painting, freelance computer consultancy and migrating to St Kilda with my Australian wife.

I have always been interested in how things go from concept to reality, and how the abstract fuels imagination and visa versa.

My paintings start at the hardware store, as the construction of the medium is always an important step. That trip usually results in the use of industrial-based paints, adhesives and fillers.

My paintings are built up with these mediums, although the inspiration has to simmer for weeks before springing to life with much scraping and scratching.

The image needs to fulfil some kind of abstraction although they jump from wanting to be a landscape and needing to tell a story, must be a Gemini thing .
