About the gallery

McCulloch Gallery is dedicated to the promotion of young and emerging artists along side established artists. The aim of the gallery is to appeal to many tastes and therefore includes works that involve landscapes, portraiture, installations and other innovative representations of the human condition.

Investment art

Whilst McCulloch Gallery is dedicated to the promotion of emerging Australian artists, we also specialise in providing advice to corporations and individuals who are keen to build a collection of art that will appreciate in value over time.

The Gallery has works in stock by:
Robert Jacks, John Olsen, Tim Storrier, Bill Henson, John Perceval, David Larwill, Jason Benjamin, Adam Cullen and other leading Australian artists.

We also offer contemporary Indigenous works by such artists as:
Kathleen Petyarre, Minnie Pwerle, George Ward Tjungurrayi, Walala Tjaptjarri, Naata Nungurrai, Elizabeth Marks and Evelen Pultara.

With the understanding that an art collection is an asset, our advice focuses, not only on a high quality of art Australia-wide, but seeks to ensure that investments in art have positive results both in the near future and the long term. McCulloch Gallery offers on-site consultations for those that seek curatorial support in the placement of selected works.

Staff

Alex McCulloch
McCulloch Gallery officially opened its doors in May 2005. Director Alex McCulloch had been trading under Alexander McCulloch Art since June 2002 choosing to use rental spaces in order to promote and support his stable of artists.

Alex has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Melbourne majoring in Art History and Philosophy. He has recently completed his Masters of Art Curatorship thesis from the same institution which he wrote on the Australian art market.

Previous to opening McCulloch Gallery he worked at Sothebys Auction House for two years and Arts Associates Australia helping build their client base.

Alex is dedicated to the promotion and support of emerging Australian artists. Through his contacts he has access to works by some of Australia’s most respected and acclaimed artists. He makes regular trips to Alice Springs where he selects works from the Papunya Tula Gallery.
